About
Language of Instruction: Arabic This course introduces the fundamental concepts of probability and statistics with applications tailored to engineering and the physical sciences. Students will learn how to analyze, interpret, and model real-world data, as well as how to apply statistical methods to solve engineering and scientific problems. Topics include: Descriptive statistics and data visualization Probability theory and probability distributions (discrete and continuous) Random variables and expectation Sampling and sampling distributions Estimation methods and confidence intervals Hypothesis testing and statistical inference Correlation, regression, and curve fitting Analysis of variance (ANOVA) Reliability and quality control methods in engineering The course emphasizes problem-solving, real data analysis, and the use of statistical software/tools. By the end, students will be able to apply probability and statistical reasoning to support decision-making and design in engineering and scientific contexts.
